If there are any budding marine biologist out there, Diveline Scuba Centre will be running a Marine Education Program. Your chance to encounter different marine and freshwater species, join in environmental activities and be a citizen scientist.

Diveline's Marine Education Program
 
Prerequisite: Interest in Marine Biology & Ocean Conservation
                     Open Water Scuba Diving Certification or Snorkelling experience *if you do not have one of these please contact the shop

Ages:            10 years and Over

                     

The program consists of theory and practical sessions

Learn about the different phylums, identify different species from Victorian waters.

 

Marine Education Week 1

Day 1      Tuesday                

               AM - Snorkel / Dive – Rapid Health Assessment / Fish Identification of Frankston Pier 

               PM - Fish Identification   

Day 2     Wednesday

               AM - Snorkel & Survey Ranelagh Bay

               PM - Practise Land Based Survey techniques

Day 3     Thursday

               AM - Snorkel / Dive – Sea Slug Census - Blairgowrie Pier

               PM - Dissection of Seafood

 

 

Marine Education Week 2

Day 1     Tuesday

              AM - Snorkel / Dive – SeaDragon Search - Flinders Pier

              PM - Seaweed Herbarium

Day 2     Wednesday

               AM - Dive - Rye Pier 

               PM - Epifauna Identification

Day 3     Thursday

              Day Trip

 

 

Optional addition

Prior to Day 1 - Complete the first day of the PADI Open Water Course

 

 

**Please note this if an anticipated itinerary. All snorkels and dives are weather dependent and dive sites may change or even be cancelled. We have other activities as back ups if plans need to change.
