PADI Enriched Air Diver

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is Diveline’ s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and here are the reasons for that:

Enriched Air, also referred to  as ‘Nitrox’. It reduces the diver’s nitrogen loading by replacing the amount of Nitrogen in the air that is filled into a scuba diving cylinder. We replace that Nitrogen with Oxygen.

Scuba cylinders are usually filled with filtered ‘normal/standard’ air which consists of 21% Oxygen / 79%  Nitrogen. The most used recreational nitrox mixes are 32% Oxygen / 68% Nitrogen (32% Nitrox) or 36% Oxygen / 64%Nitrogen (36% Nitrox).

Scuba diving with Enriched Air gives you more no decompression dive time, due to the reduction in nitrogen loading. This enables you longer bottom time / more time underwater, shorter surface intervals, and a reduced nitrogen loading. Ideal for repetitive dives.

The PADI Enriched Air Diver Online theory will teach you more about the risks and limitations involved.

The theory can be completed in as little as an afternoon. After completing your online learning you'll apply the knowledge you've learned by practicing procedures for obtaining and analysing enriched air with your PADI Instructor. You have the option of completing two open water enriched air dives.

If you’re planning a dive trip or just want to extend your underwater adventures, enriched air is definitely one of the specialties you want as a scuba diver.

This certification counts towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Your Next Adventure

  • Diving with enriched air nitrox benefits all types of diving, but it goes especially well with these specialties:
  • PADI Wreck Diver course – Popular wrecks tend to be deeper, so enriched air nitrox maximizes your exploration time.
  • PADI Deep Diver course – The deeper you dive, the shorter your no stop time – but enriched air nitrox increases it, giving your more time at depth
  • PADI Digital Underwater Photographer – Photographers usually like to make several dives so they can get lots of pictures. Enriched air nitrox reduces the amount of residual nitrogen you accumulate, allowing repetitive dives to be longer.
  • PADI Master Scuba Diver The PADI Enriched Air Diver course counts toward your Master Scuba Diver rating -- the highest non professional rating in recreational diving.
