If there are any budding marine biologist out there, Diveline Scuba Centre will be running a Marine Education Program. Your chance to encounter different marine and freshwater species, join in environmental activities and be a citizen scientist.

Prerequisite: Interest in Marine Biology & Ocean Conservation

Ages:            10 years and Over

Open Water Scuba Diving Certification or Snorkelling experience *if you do not have one of these please contact the shop

 

Marine Education Week 1

Day 1      Tuesday                

               AM - Dive – Buoyancy Dive / Rapid Health Assessment - Fish Identification of Frankston Pier 

               PM - Fish Identification   

Day 2     Wednesday

               AM - Dissection of seafood

               PM - Practise Land Based Survey techniques

Day 3     Thursday

               AM - Dive – Learn to Use Marine Research Equipment

               PM - Work on National Geographic Slingshot Challenge

 

 

Marine Education Week 2

Day 1     Tuesday

              AM - Dive – Sea Slug Census - Blairgowrie Pier

              PM - Marine Animal Idenfification 

Day 2     Wednesday

               AM - Practise Land Based Survey techniques

               PM - Work on National Geographic Slingshot Challenge

Day 3     Thursday

               Dive – Visit Industry Related Busniess (TBC)

 

Optional addition

Prior to Day 1 - Complete the first day of the PADI Open Water Course

 

The program consists of theory and practical sessions

Learn about the different phylums, identify different species from Victorian waters.
