Weekly Diveline Update 23 October
The week that ended 23rd October
Welcome back Philippines Divers! So many great stories, fantastic photos, and new friendships.
Wednesday night dive at Blair with great conditions despite the all the rain. Searching for Shaun the Sheep nudibranchs was successful -for those with good eyesight.
OPEN WATER - 8 Students completed their open water course with Ekrem – 1st dive at Blairgowrie with excellent conditions and a few divers spotted Tambja Verconis
Lots of muddy floodwaters coming in through the heads of the bay made for poor visibility along the more popular dive sites, so after a very short boat ride, our students experienced their 18m dive at Portsea Hole.
RESCUE – 4 of our Diveline divers worked on becoming better buddies through learning search patterns, how to handle panicked or unresponsive divers, and a variety of rescue drills.
YOUTH – Ryleigh and Gabriel joined Rita and future marine biologist Jennifer for a youth dive. We searched for as many different nudies as we could find and took lots of photographs.
SOCIAL- Diveline regulars were joined by 2 travellers from Canada for this weekend’s social dives, Saturday’s dive at Blair Trevor and the divers stopped off for a feed at Captains of Rye.
WOMEN’S – Familiar faces and a few new ladies joined Rita at Rye pier for a shore dive with beautiful conditions- and said Hello to Rye Pier’s new seal security guard. Finished off with brunch and a beer at Captains of Rye
